Shock the Monkey...

"Abba dabba dabba dabba dabba dabba dabba" said the monkey to the chimp.

From the Best Cellars wine shop to the American Indian Museum - Greta had an eventful halloween weekend which ironically involved no trick or treating. It was a balmy, drizzly 70 degrees so the monkey outfit was not the best choice for the weekend.

You can tell by the look on her face that she is thrilled.

The first event actually started the day before Halloween at Ana's house. She requested that all of the kids bring their costumes. I left work early to take photos but all of the other kids were gone except Saana- oh sorry, I mean Sleeping beauty.

On Saturday morning, Greta's first stop was playing at the Sport & Health Kidz Club while I squeezed in a workout. Later that morning, Daddy came over and we got ready to head downtown to the Botanical Gardens for a baby parade.

Unfortunately, Greta was bushed from the morning and catnapped in her CatBird papoose while we watched the other kids parade around at the Gardens.

Since it was about lunchtime, we headed over to the American Indian Museum for lunch. (Little known fact: Greta is actually 1/16th American Indian.)

If you have not heard about the Mitsitam Cafe in the museum, then I suggest you add it to your list of "must do's" in DC. Definitely try the bison chili - Greta loved it! Though, remember to pad your wallet since two cup o' soups, an appetizer and coke cost 25 buckeroos.

Later that day, we explored Clarendon's water fountains and even stopped in for a wine and candy tasting at Best Cellars. That's when the monkey tried to make a "break" for it.

Lock the doors - Monkey on the loose!!

The weekend ended on a exciting note - ice skating!! Well... not quite yet.

But we did take Greta to see the ice rink in Ballston where the DC Capitals practice. Can you say Ovechkin? Fans say "Ohvie", I say, "Chicken"!

She still has another year or two before the skates go on but then - watch out!

Take a look at all of the halloween pictures...
