That's been the first question everyone has been asking since her first birthday is right around the corner. Our answer: Thank God, not yet.
Most parents can't wait for this huge milestone to happen but we have different take...
We were blessed with a little one who, instead of crawling away from us, is usually crawling towards us for a hug. In addition, she loves to "talk" while she's crawling to tell us that she's on her way. Much cuter than a cow bell around the neck... And believe it or not, if I throw one of her toys away from me, she'll often retrieve it and bring it back to me - just like a lil puppy.
Dora the Explorer..not!
Lucky for us, she's no Christopher Columbus... her exploring abilities involve little more than her 1) taking a few strides and then 2) flipping onto her heinie to survey her progress and then back on the hands and knees again another couple of feet. Repeat steps 1 and 2. Over and over.
Plus she's just not that fast. If she were in a race with the turtle and hare, the turtle would really get a nice confidence boost.
Taking all of this into account, it's no wonder that we are in no hurry to see our little turtle take her first steps. This stage is fine by us!
