Here is the skinny on what we are looking for:
One inexpensive seat to get around town in the smaller car - will mainly be used to take Greta the 10 minutes back and forth between Ana's and our home. We are considering Cosco Scenera and Safety First Avenue.
One slightly nicer seat that has these features:
- easy to use straps that do not get tangled (this is big must);
- something relatively compact since we may need to put two other folks in the back seat at times;
- comfortable for the baby if we take a longer trip.
I've looked at the Britax Boulevard and First Years True fit.
Let me know what you have and what you like (and don't like) - thanks!

Love the 6 month pics! I'm a big fan of Britax. Safety ratings are great, though they are more expensive. They look much more comfy than a cheaper car seat too which is a must for me since we drive with the kids on long distance trips a lot.
We ended up moving Alex to a regular car seat around 4 months b/c he was so big and turned it forward around 7 months (even though you're not supposed to until 1 year) b/c his poor legs were so scrunched. Just my opinion, you'll find what works best for you guys.
Sara =)
