Life without Greta

The family took off to visit the Ellek grandparents in Florida on Sunday Afternoon. We arrived in Englewood to a home cooked meal and to Grammie and Happy Pappy who were anxiously awaiting to see baby Greta again.
The next day, Derek and I took off for Lido Key for a two night getaway on the beach outside Sarasota. We fell in love with our resort and the trendy St. Armands Circle just a half a mile up the road. They even had a free shuttle that dropped us off and pick us up on demand.

We had some fabulous meals including one of the best salads on earth at Columbia restaurant.

One of the most interesting meals we had was a three pound lobster tail tempura roll at the Drunken Poets Cafe in downtown Sarasota. It was an amazing creation that was almost too glorious to eat but, of course, we got over that quickly and dug in :D
Last nite, we arranged for two massage therapists from the island to come to our suite to give us hour long massages before dinner with the "fun money" my parents were kind enough to provide for our getaway. It was really like flying first class after being in coach for many years. There is nothing more convenient or relaxing then having the masseuse come to you. We are on our way back to Englewood this afternoon to see our little munchkin so I'll post more pics and misadventures from our week long getaway this week. In the meantime, Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Wow...what a luxury after the first several weeks of parenthood! That's so great that you two were able to get some adult time alone.
